Isla Cabuya

B I R D W A T C H I N G

Our situation on the tip of the Nicoya peninsula close to marine, freshwater and tropical forest habitats
makes us an ideal Birdwatching base for birdwatchers and nature lovers.

CABO BLANCO NATURE RESERVE (only 2 km away) offers well marked trails through virgin forest.
We are just 1 km from River Lajas where you can spot ROSEATE SPOONBILLS and a wide variety of
KINGFISHERS and HERONS, or simply take a cooling dip in its natural pools.

However you don't even need to leave our gardens to see the TOLEDOS dancing or the BELLBIRDS which
visit our ylang-ylang trees.
ARACARI, TROGONS and WOODPECKERS all come to feed on the wide variety of flowering and fruit trees
we have planted.

The following list of birds was compiled by a couple of amateur birdwatchers during several visits to the area.
